It wasn't entirely successful. I have been put off by the prospect of attending to a thick mixture, spluttering like lava, for 40 minutes. No doubt I should try it: so many kitchen techniques are offputting on paper, but less daunting when you try them. For years, I didn't dare make mayonnaise.

So I don't know the answer to your question. It's always worrying when things don't work as they're supposed to -- even when they work better than they're supposed to. But, if the results taste good, you cannot be doing very much wrong.

I have avoided instant polenta, which the experts usually rate as an inferior product.Nicholas Cleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04768734712635376841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36230402.post-1170939379336709862007-02-08T12:56:00.000+00:002007-02-08T12:56:00.000+00:00Sounds good, Nicholas. I've always struggled with cooking polenta at home - everything I read says it takes 40-45 minutes of cooking but mine always looks/tastes done after 20 max. Am I doing something wrong? Any advice?

NikosAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
